Education

My academic journey has taken me from Chengdu to Atlanta, with Industrial Engineering remaining at the center of how I think about systems, data, and decision making.

2025 – Present

Georgia Institute of Technology

Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering
Atlanta, Georgia

My doctoral research focuses on healthcare modeling, disease progression, microsimulation, and population-level decision making.

Selected Highlights
Long COVID Population-Level Modeling Developing a multi-phase modeling framework linking acute COVID-19 dynamics, wastewater-informed infection estimates, and post-acute disease burden.
Alcohol-Related Disease Microsimulation Building an individual-level microsimulation framework to study drinking behavior, chronic disease progression, mortality, and healthcare interventions.
Intervention & Cost-Effectiveness Modeling Evaluating treatment effectiveness, duration, and long-term population health outcomes for alcohol-use interventions.
2023 – 2024

Georgia Institute of Technology

M.S. in Industrial Engineering
Atlanta, Georgia

During my master's studies, I further developed my interests in simulation, statistical modeling, epidemiology, and data-driven analysis.

Selected Highlight
Flu Hospitalization Forecasting Worked on probabilistic forecasting of seasonal influenza hospitalizations using Google search trends, a compartmental SIRS model, and an Extended Kalman Filter for real-time data assimilation.
2019 – 2023

Sichuan University

B.S. in Industrial Engineering
Chengdu, China

My undergraduate studies introduced me to industrial engineering, optimization, simulation, and computational research, while also leading me into medical imaging and biomedical applications.

Selected Highlights
Respiratory Motion Modeling Developed a 4D CT-based framework for patient-specific respiratory motion modeling using affine transformations, deformable vector fields, and optimization methods.
Airway Tree Segmentation Worked on deep-learning-based airway segmentation from chest CT scans using U²-Net and Dice loss.
Undergraduate Recognition Received the National Scholarship and recognition for an outstanding capstone project and outstanding graduation performance.

Teaching Experience

Teaching has been one of the ways I learned to communicate technical ideas more clearly and work with students from different academic backgrounds.
